Day Six is Coming

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. Ecc 3:11 KJV

In six days, God spoke creation into being, resting on the seventh day.  The earth, according to Genesis 1:2 was formless, empty and dark. On day one of creation, God spoke into the darkness, “Let there be light!”, and there was light.

Suddenly, all the ugliness, previously hidden by darkness was exposed for all to see. God however, did not focus on the ugliness, but on the beautiful light He had just created, and He saw that it was good. God worked on each created feature, celebrating His accomplishments by seeing “that it was good”.

On the last day of creation, day six, God created His masterpiece, man (Ephesians 2:10 NLT), and He said it was “very good”.

Then came sin bringing darkness again into the world. Man, that was once called “very good”, was now shrouded in darkness. However, all was not lost.  Jesus, by His life, death and resurrection, came and brought light to a fallen race. Today He is doing a work in those who will believe.

God in His mercy has chosen to focus on the finished work of Jesus Christ, and the continuing work and accomplishments of the Holy Spirit within His children. He sees that it is good.  He is aware of our emptiness and longings, that only He can satisfy. Be patient, God is not finished with you yet, days two, three, four, five and six are coming.  He will get to those in His time. By day six we will be saying, “Praise the Lord, it is very good!”

May we carry the light of Jesus to a dark world, and may it lighten their darkness and bring hope, joy and deliverance.

Prayer: Father thank You for Jesus, the light of the world. May we open our hearts to receive Him, and may His light lighten our darkness. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
